The beginning of a great journey: we are live!

It's official – worldwidelocal has been live since April 1, 2025! πŸŽ‰

After months of preparation, traveling through Asia and Europe in search of unique treasures, and six months of intensive work on the design and development of our Shopify store, the time has finally come: our online store for hand-picked vintage sportswear, military, and workwear styles is online.

Was that exciting? Absolutely!
Was it a rocket launch? Not quite.
But that wasn't our goal either.

Because even though our launch went exactly as planned, there was still a small glimmer of hope in the airβ€”the hope for that one viral moment, for a surprising wave of orders, for the big bang. But as is often the case, good things take time.

Our first steps in e-commerce
We've been on the road since 2023β€”literally. We've been searching for, collecting, curating, and importing vintage clothing. Not because it's currently "in." But because we're convinced that well-preserved clothing with history and style deserves a new place in the present. In Germany and Europe, because in the US, vintage clothing has long been the better alternative. It's no longer a trend; vintage is a new, major brand.

Our Instagram account @worldwidelocal_vintage, currently with around 370 followers, was our only marketing channel (apart from Google) until now. We also had some initial glimpses on TikTok and Facebook. Now the soft launch is over. We're getting started and have launched our first paid ads. Because yes, we quickly realized: without paid reach, it doesn't work.

Marketing is not a side job – it is our new reality
We're in the middle of building our paid marketing strategy: Google Ads, meta ads, A/B testing, audience analyticsβ€”the whole package. We know that you can't build a brand with hope and good taste alone. It takes budget, time, perseverance, and a clear vision.
We'll also pursue analogue approaches: distributing flyers, maintaining a presence, and engaging in real conversations. Perhaps not always glamorous, but effective. Because if you really want to build something, you have to get out there. Go where your target audience is. And that's what we're doing wholeheartedly.

What's next?
The testing phase is over. Now the construction begins.
The lessons we've learned over the past few weeks have been invaluable, and our ambition is greater than ever. We firmly believe that those who find us will stay. And those who order from us will recommend us to others.
